Summer Activities
Summer in Summit County is amazing.   With low humidity and on average daytime  temperature of 75 degrees, Summit County is your summer escape.     A kaleidoscope of colors adorn the mountains throughout summer and peak towards the end of July.  When summer's over, the Aspen leaves turn a vibrant gold in September and early October.   

Summit County features a recreation path with over 40 miles of paved trails that starts in Breckenridge, winds around Lake Dillon and over Vail Pass.   Back country hiking and biking trails are endless with novice to expert levels available.  

Summit County is known for its summer festivals and events with paid and free concerts, car shows, BBQ festival and much more.  

With so many summer activities available, the hardest part is deciding!   So grab a bottle of water, some sunscreen and head out to enjoy Colorado's playground! 

White Water Rafting
Choose from mild to wild trips and everything in between!  All trips come with experienced  professional rafting guides, lunch for full day trips, life jackets, helmets, rafts and paddles.   Wet suits, booties and splash jackets are available free of charge.  Transportation is also available to and from the river.   Nothing is more exhilarating than white water rafting in scenic Colorado.  

Horseback Riding
Feel like you're living the "Old West" while exploring the mountains upon horseback.  A variety of rides and cattle drives are available for all levels and abilities.  

ATV Rides
Exhilarating all terrain vehicles are a great way to see historic landmarks and panoramic mountain views  Two and three hour trips are available with a box lunch included.   

Fly Fishing
Enjoy the most pristine rivers and streams in the country with guided fly fishing expeditions.   Guided float trips, walk and wade services are available for half day, full day and overnight excursions on numerous waters around Summit County. 

Golfing
With mountain elevation, your golf balls fly further for your best game ever!   Enjoy golfing at 5 local courses in Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Silverthorne.  Each course is uniquely designed with beaver ponds and high alpine terrain where wildlife is frequently  seen.  Golf club rentals are available. 

Railroad Trips
Taking a railroad trip through scenic Colorado allows you to view parts of Colorado as they did over a century ago.   These all-inclusive trips include transportation,  train ride,  lunch and a personal and knowledgeable tour guide.  

Casino  Shuttle
This is a great way to enjoy gambling in the towns of Black Hawk and Central City (both about one hour from Summit County) without the hassle of driving and parking.   Must be 21 years or older to participate with a valid ID.

Hot Air Balloon Ride
Soar above the Rocky Mountains in an incredible adventure aboard a colorful hot air balloon. 

Zip Line Tours 
Zip through the scenic mountains, high above the trees.  Must be 10 years or older to participate.

Water Taxi Boat Ride 
Take a fun and scenic boat ride on beautiful Lake Dillon Reservior with over 24 miles of shoreline.   Taking off from either Frisco or Dillon Marinas daily.   You can do one-way or round-trip.  You can even take your bikes and ride back to your starting marina on the paved bike path around the lake.
