The nearby Ski Area of Loveland has also been open for a few weeks. Summit County is looking good for early season skiing with a few large snow storms already under their belt and more on the way. Wax up the skis or board and head up the mountain. Don't forget all the other fun activities Summit County also has to offer this winter!

White Water Rafting - Extended season
by Gena Osborn on 07/06/11Plan on an extra long rafting season this summer due to incredible snow this past winter. For example, the Blue River just north of Silverthorne that typically ends rafting season in mid-July should be running through most of August. This dam released flow should continue much later than normal since this summer is seeing peak river flows. The Blue River raft trip is easy for Breckenridge and all guests staying in Summit County. This intermediate 1/2 day trip is fun for the whole family with class II and III+ rapids.
